  • Following the Epic Games v. Apple antitrust case, a U.S. judge ruled that Apple had violated a 2021 injunction by blocking developers from linking to external payment systems. The April 2025 contempt ruling forced Apple to allow links and buttons to external payment systems, including those using crypto, stop taking commissions (up to 30%) on external transactions and revise its U.S. App Store guidelines to permit crypto payments, rewards, and NFT purchases made off-platform.This legal turning point opened the App Store to Web3 apps—allowing companies like Overherd to launch its crypto reward model within the iOS ecosystem for the first time.

Overherd is a crypto-native, text-only social app where users post short, anonymous messages and earn crypto rewards when posts go viral. They needed a crypto-specific ad partner to capitalize, without breaking its minimalist, in-feed UX.

Campaign

HypeLab integrated an in-app ad SDK and activated crypto-native demand across high-fit campaigns, balancing placement frequency, ad density, and format performance to preserve the anonymous feed experience. We focused user growth and monetization in top regions—Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Singapore—meeting users where they actually are (campuses, TikTok) while channeling demand from crypto advertisers to match Overherd’s audience.

Results

From August–October 2025, Overherd delivered 80,000,000+ impressions with 75% on mobile. CPMs held efficient at $1.45 (mobile) and $2.52 (desktop), translating rapid user growth into sustainable, programmatic revenue—powered by HypeLab’s crypto-native demand and wallet-relevant campaigns.
